Course Highlights

There’s lots to explore along the Paddlefest route. Check out these great features during your paddle!

PADDLE WHEEL PIT STOP

Take a break, take a leak. The Paddle Wheel Pit Stop is located directly below the National Steamboat Monument paddle wheel on the Cincinnati riverside.

Port-o-lets and water will be waiting as you stretch your legs at the halfway point of the paddling route.

If you’re paddling out 4.5-mile course, this destination is your finish line.

Mill Creek Peek

Take an adventure up the Mill Creek and learn about the resurgence of this historic waterway. Members of the Mill Creek Yacht Club will be there to greet you. The confluence of the Mill Creek and the Ohio River is past downtown, so this feature is only available to 9-mile paddlers.

Rhythm on the River

Paddle to the music as you float by our on-water live music performances. Rhythm on the River bands play from house boats along the paddling route. It’s a great way to take a break during your Paddlefest adventure!

Digital Guide to the Ohio River

Keep track of your paddling progress and learn about cool features along the course when you use the Digital Guide to the Ohio River. Open the web link when you’re on the water to start exploring!

Meet the Commodore

Mike Fremont has been an inspiring figure in the world of conservation for decades. Mike co-founded American Rivers in 1973. He also founded Rivers Unlimited, a state-wide river group. Locally, Mike was an early and longtime Board member of the Little Miami Conservancy.

At 102 years old, Mike remains an avid canoe-racer. You can catch him in the Paddlefest races this August!

We are honored to name Mike Fremont as the Commodore of Paddlefest.
